Kaiser Aluminum and United have just exited bankruptcy. There is a lag time for distributions to the former accounts and you can find it on MarketWatch.com. Kaiser will be distributed on July 28th and then we will find out how many shares of the new company KALU are worth of our old stock KLUCQ. There should be like a 700:1 ratio or so, according to my math. No one knows until the distribution date.
What that date is for United, I don’t know. But our shares do not just disappear. They are still worth something, don’t worry. Your account will be updated on the 28th with the correct amount of shares and proper value. I just wish it were a 1:1 swap! Wouldn’t that be nice?

I make homemade veggie stock all the time, and I almost always use stems, ends, roots, etc…all that stuff you normally cut off and throw away…I learned it from my ex, who was a chef at a very hoity-toity restaurant. I even throw in onion skins – it gives it a beautiful color!
Just simmer everything for an hour or more- veggie parts, herbs, garlic, whatever you’d like & then just strain it when it’s done!!

Depends on how long you want to wait it out. The market is in its buy low stage. Look for stocks that recovered well during the last down turn. Look for signs of a recovery and buy it. The money will flow back in, people will be selling their get rich books (or braging they are making tons of money) and that’s the sign to sell.

Probably your stock will be worthless after the deal, but you may get something for it if you’re lucky. I had Western Union, and actually got a few pennies for it, since the bankruptcy auction brought in more than expected. But usually, it’s a washout.

yes you can.

in a large pot of water throw in salt, peppercorns, celery, carrots, onions, broccoli stalks, leeks, asparagus stalks, and any other vegetable stalks you can gather up. bring it to a boil on low heat and simmer for a couple hours.

I like Zoltek (ZOLT). They are the world’s largest manufacturer of low cost carbon fiber. It is much stronger than steel at a fraction of the weight. Right now most of it is being used to make blades for wind turbines due to its great strength and light weight. Soon it will be used in cars to make them lighter and stronger as cars face higher fuel economy standards. Boeing will use it (although not Zoltek’s carbon fiber) in its new 787 jet to make it lighter, stronger and more fuel efficient. It will be used in concrete and replace steel to make buildings and bridges stronger and more earthquake resistant. And carbon fiber will never rust or corrode. The uses are endless. You’ll be getting in on the ground floor. Not too long ago it reached $57 a share and now you can buy it for around $35.
